Ok, not really day one, per se, but today Matt and I decided to purchase the P90X system. It is on the way, and will be here in a few days. I'm a little nervous, but excited at the same time. Sometimes I think I need something like this to get my butt off the couch and to be healthy. It is an intensive system, with workouts 6 days a week. But in 90 days, people have had incredible results. What that means for me is that I will have a great body for bathing suit season. I've sort of let myself go the last few months. I've been pretty busy with school, and the temperature has dropped, so I haven't been riding by bike as often as I would like. But all this will change with the P90X system. I'll be more fit, which means I will be better able to keep up with Matt on my bike. And I'll look great, have lots of energy (which I really need) and just feel wonderful. That is what I'm looking forward to the most, feeling healthy. It is not about losing weight, although I hope I do some of that too. It is about feeling like I'm doing something for myself that will stick with me for the rest of my life. I hope to get into the habit of working out. It is really hard for me. I won't lie. I go through spurts. But this is something that I want to be dedicated to. So here goes.
Tomorrow, I will have Matt take some before measurements and pictures. That way I have a baseline to go from. Then, when the system gets here, I'll take measurements every week or two to document my progress. Oh, and I want to write about my workouts here, in this blog. Someday I'll let everyone read it. But for now, it will be a sort of private journal for me and Matt.
Goals:
- Workout 6 days a week
- Get 8 hours of sleep a night
- Go to bed at a reasonable hour every night
- Cut back on the junk food
- Eat more natural foods, maybe follow the meal plan with the system
- Take a vitamin every day
- Become more fit
I'll try to stay up with my goals, and revise them as needed. Some will be easy. Others more difficult. Wish me luck!
